RC Astro Privacy Policy

This policy discloses the privacy practices for www.rc-astro.com, which is operated by RC Astro, LLC. This privacy policy applies solely to information collected by this website. It will notify you of the following:

  1. What personally identifiable information is collected from you through the website, how it is used, and with whom it may be shared
  2. What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data
  3. The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information
  4. How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

RC Astro, LLC only collects and has access to information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. We will use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to answer a question, email software license and download information, etc. Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about new services or changes to this privacy policy. RC Astro currently uses the following third parties for the stated purposes:

  • Automattic, Inc. – a web site content management and e-commerce software provider. RC Astro’s website is built using the open-source versions WordPress and the WooCommerce plugin. Basic website usage statistics are collected, such as the number of unique visitors, the number of page views, etc. No personally identifiable information is collected in this process. RC Astro uses WooCommerce software to manage its online product offerings, handle the shopping cart, and process orders. You can find Automattic’s privacy policy here.
  • Brevo – an email relay and automation provider. RC Astro uses Brevo to send emails to customers regarding orders, account management, software updates, order follow-ups, and email list subscription management. We also use Brevo to help track certain events, such as when an order is completed, so that we can add customers who have opted in to receive email updates to the appropriate mailing list(s). These subscriptions are entirely optional, and can be managed by users at their discretion. Brevo does not share any personally identifiable information with additional third parties.   • PayPal – a financial services company. RC Astro uses PayPal for transaction processing. You can review PayPal’s privacy policy here.
  • Stripe/WooCommerce Payments – transaction processing. RC Astro currently uses PayPal to process credit card and PayPal account transactions, but from time to time also uses Stripe (via WooCommerce Payments) to process transactions as an alternate provider. RC Astro does not use Google Analytics.

Cookies

The RC Astro web site uses browser cookies to provide a seamless experience for visitors, and to track certain information like pages visited, products ordered, etc. Without the use of cookies, things like shopping cart contents and user login session information would not be remembered from one page to the next, and the site would not be functional. For example, users could not log in, and have the site remember that they were logged in, in order to display information such as the user’s license keys, order history, and support ticket history.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given on our website, or by filing a support ticket via the website: 

  • See what data we have about you, if any
  • Change/correct any data we have about you
  • Have us delete any data we have about you
  • Express any concern you have about our use of your data

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. Since we use third-party companies for financial transactions (i.e., software license purchases), we do not collect or store any financial information such as credit card data. You can verify the security of this website by looking for a closed lock icon in your web browser, or looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page. While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment, and the third parties we use have commensurate security and privacy policies.

Updates

Our Privacy Policy may change from time to time and all updates will be posted on this page. If you feel that we are not abiding by this privacy policy, you should contact us immediately by filing a support ticket.
