Jupiter
16 March 2003

Technical Details

Optics:14" f/10 RCOS Ritchey-Chrétien Cassegrain at f/20,TeleVue 2" 2x PowerMate.
Camera:Philips ToUCam Pro.
Location:my backyard observatory in Austin, Texas
Exposure Details:500x40ms (best of 1800 frames).
Processing:RegiStax (align, stack), ImagesPlus (deconvolution), PhotoShop (unsharp mask).
Processing:Io (left) and Callisto (right) are to the left of Jupiter. There is a variation in the brightness profile of Callisto which may be a processing artifact, but I'm not sure. Io does not display this profile, but I hesitate to jump to the conclusion that I have resolved a surface feature on Callisto.
